DS Automatic Zero Speed Splicer for Digital Printing Applications

Digital printing presses have been generally equipped with manual unwinds to feed the press. Manual roll handling requires the press to be stopped to unload the expired roll and to load a new roll, to change the paper type or width, or when the re-wound roll is complete. The higher speeds of new generation digital presses make roll change intervals more frequent, thereby increasing the overall downtime. A proven solution to eliminate this downtime is to use automatic splicers that have been used in gravure and web offset printing for over 50 years.

Zero speed splicers generally find the best fit in applications with web speeds below 12 m/s, and with web widths up to 1500 mm.
