A passion to develop and refine technologies that improve lifetime performance drives MEGTEC’s 14 engineering solutions centers. The synergy between people, their experience and the changing needs of customers is the bedrock of innovation, facilitated by systems such as Design for Six Sigma and extensive R&D resources. Staff from MEGTEC’s different global locations regularly network to exchange experience and ideas to optimize solutions. In addition, development teams work with staff from suppliers, original equipment manufacturers and end users to deliver results beyond expectations. As a result, MEGTEC is acknowledged as an international leader in its fields and is the holder of over 100 patents.

VOCSIDIZER®
The patented flameless thermal oxidizer controls VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions and odours. The unique energy-efficient design is used in over 800 installations for many industrial applications. The VOCSIDIZER now provides a breakthrough technology for the coal mine industry to control waste Ventilation Air Methane while producing energy from superheated steam to generate electricity to the power grid.
CLEANSWITCH® RTO
The world’s largest two-can system regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) has an unequalled 97% thermal efficiency rating. The patented switching valve delivers the highest cleanup of all two-can oxidizers without a residual air cleaner. A much wider range of new applications is possible when combined with other technologies.
936 Catalyst
The ultimate bead catalyst for printing and bakery applications has the best longevity when silicon and/or phosphorus are present in an exhaust stream. Platinum and palladium are perfectly positioned on alumina spheres manufactured to exacting surface area and pore size specifications.
Air bar technologies
MEGTEC is the world leader in air flotation drying. Its air bar innovations include Hi-Float®, Coanda, Dual-Dry® and StepFoil™. Combinations of these and other air bars provide innovative solutions to handle thinner and wider substrates at high speeds for printing, coating and other industrial applications.
Dual-Dry® RTO
The world’s most economic and environmentally friendly heatset dryer with integrated regenerative thermal oxidizer and patented Dual-Dry® air bars. It reduces gas consumption and emissions by half compared to the next best available system.
DLC match-speed splicer
The web printing industry’s standard match-speed splicer — core braking and 2 arms — was an original MEGTEC development and many thousands of units run on high performance printing presses. In 1991 the DLC was the world’s first match-speed splicer with 4 quadrant drive technology and has become the industry reference on the world’s fastest and widest offset presses.
TECTURN®
The patented web handling system was the first to control the relationship between air pressure and web tension to accurately change web direction without any contact to the substrate. |
