Through its recent acquisition of Barnebey Sutcliffe Solvent Recovery Systems and Vara Technologies, MEGTEC is able to offer over 80 years of experience in designing, procuring and installing the most technically advanced and efficient vapor phase Solvent Recovery and Distillation systems. These systems are used in solvent-based manufacturing processes to control emissions of Solvents, Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) and Hazardous Air Pollutant (HAP) to comply with global, regional, and local environmental regulations, and recover them for reuse, generating substantial savings. They are also used in applications such as remediation projects to collect emissions from soil vapor extraction systems.

MEGTEC solvent recovery systems include single and steam regenerated carbon adsorption systems, chilled fluid condensation systems, and packed bed fluid scrubbing systems to remove and recover the solvents from the process stream.

MEGTEC also offers its CADRE® Concentrator, a system that combines regenerative carbon adsorption with an oxidizer to control low, variable, concentration VOC/HAP emissions contained in large air streams, as well as Revolver® Z, a Zeolite rotor concentrator coupled with a thermal oxidizer.

In addition, MEGTEC can provide equipment such as distillation and stripping systems for the separation, dehydration, and purification of the solvents to allow for reuse in the manufacturing process.

MEGTEC typically provides small solvent recovery systems as completely pre-assembled skid-mounted units for installation by its customers. Large solvent recovery systems are supplied as total turnkey projects where MEGTEC assumes responsibility for the entire installation and start up of the system.

Carbon adsorption technology from MEGTEC is a simple and effective method for removing volatile organic compounds, solvents and odors from manufacturing process emissions. MEGTEC uses activated carbon because it is the most versatile of all adsorbents due to its broad pore size distribution and pore volume, which makes it suitable for virtually any process generating solvent-laden air.
