Roll & Web Handling
The industry’s standard match-speed splicer — core braking and 2 arms — was an original MEGTEC development and today the company is the largest supplier of splicers for the printing industry. Splicers for single width newspapers include the SE zero speed — the industry’s highest selling splicer.
The new modular match-speed MP series offers high functionality at low cost for newspaper and commercial applications for speeds up to 14,5 m/s (2850 fpm).This compact core-driven splicer can be equipped with shafts or chucks, 2 or 4 quadrant drive, motorized split-arms, integrated infeed and automatic roll loading.
The DLC match-speed splicer has been setting industry performance benchmarks since 1991. The new 6000 model is for webs up to 2860 mm (112”) wide, roll diameter of 1524 mm (60 inches) and weight of 6000 kg. Standard equipment includes 4-quadrant drive and braking, split arms, quick change chucks, integrated infeed and web guide. The DLC range includes the 2100, 3200 and 5000 models. Other web handling equipment includes infeeds, web guides, silicone coaters, no-contact air turns, rewinders and slitters.
Drying & Environmental Control
MEGTEC is synonymous with the development of heatset flotation drying and oxidation – more presses in the world run with its dryers than all other brands combined. The transfer of technology from other industries continuously reinforces this leadership.
The patented and proven Dual-Dry® air-nozzle system ensures optimum performance for the longest and widest dryers — even with heavy ink coverage on lightweight papers at low web tension. The Dual-Dry® III is a stand-alone dryer for multi-web installations connected to a central independent oxidizer — like an Epsilon™ or Cleanswitch® RTO unit. The Dual-Dry® TNV has an integrated thermal oxidizer to meet the strictest environmental regulations, with a high heat exchanger efficiency to reduce energy consumption.
The new Dual-Dry® RTO completely redefines industry performance benchmarks. Its integrated regenerative thermal oxidizer exceeds all environmental regulations, and the ultrahigh 95% efficient heat exchanger makes it the most energy efficient dryer available requiring very low, or even zero, fuel consumption. The Dual-Dry® RTO ensures the lowest lifetime total operating costs for offset presses of 48 to 96 pages for speeds up to 18 m/s. The new Ironman™ integral web cooling system further increases quality and economic performance. |
